What are Traineeships?
Traineeships are a new programme for young people aged 16-24 seeking an Apprenticeship.
Darley Training offers a tailor made package of support that will help you develop the skills, confidence and independence to secure employment in an Apprenticeship or other forms of work. A Traineeship programme is designed to fit individual learner needs, and will last for around 8 weeks though can last up to 6 months if required.
Darley Training Traineeships consist of 3 elements giving you the opportunity to complete:
- A high quality work placement giving real-life work experience
- Focussed work preparation training including CV writing, mock interviews, job searching and communication skills
- English and maths for young people who have not achieved a GCSE grade C, equivalent or above.
Traineeships will help you develop the skills employers see as essential in today's world of work including:
- Communication and people skills
- Team working
- Information technology
- Problem solving using your own initiative
A Traineeship will give you the chance to develop all these skills in a vocational context, and a far greater chance of securing an Apprenticeship by beating off the competition.
Traineeships Are Available In A Range Of Sectors Including:
- Early Years Care
- Business Administration
- Information Technology
- Customer Service
- Health & Social Care
Who is eligible?
You will need to be:
- Aged between 16-24
- Are not currently in a job and have little work experience
- Are qualified below level 3
At Darley Training class sizes are small and each group is supported by experienced staff who make the learning experience fun, engaging and relevant. Advisers will be available to support you in ensuring your career aspirations are recognised and you are put on the right path to a successful career.
You will be appointed a personal Training Adviser who will visit you in the workplace to assess progress whilst completing your work experience.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. However you must be prepared to participate in work experience as part of the programme.
Possible Progression
Traineeships offer a range of exciting progression opportunities. These include moving onto an Apprenticeship at Level 2, an Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3 and into Higher Education thereafter.
