Apprenticeship in Team Leading Level 2
Who Is This Apprenticeship For?
This qualification will suit those who are looking to develop and demonstrate competence as a Team Leader. It is for those who are either looking for work in, or who want to work in the business and professional management sector, intending to return to work after unemployment, already have core occupational competence and knowledge within the sector, but are aspiring to enter a role that involves leading the development and/or performance of a team.
What Does The Course Comprise?
Team Leaders play an integral role in supporting organisational objectives. This Team Leading Apprenticeship will cover a wide range of functions including monitoring work, giving feedback, briefing teams, supporting team members, resolving problems, procuring supplies, project management and delivering and improving customer service. The Apprenticeship will provide the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the skills and knowledge to develop core competencies including team leadership styles, team dynamics, problem solving, providing support and managing the work of teams and communication techniques.
The Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading Apprenticeship comprises of the following components:
- BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading QCF
- Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths, English and ICT
The course is made up of a number of Mandatory units supplemented by Optional units. Learners earn credits for each unit enabling them to meet the required number of credits to complete the course, candidates have to complete a minimum of 40 credits. Units include: manage personal performance and development, communicate work-related information, lead and manage a team, principles of team leading and understand business.
How Long Will The Course Take To Achieve?
The level 2 qualification will take around 12 months to complete.
How Will The Learner Be Assessed?
Assessment will take place by regular observation in the workplace. Additional assessment will be through portfolio building of assignments, case studies, observation and work based activities.
What Support Is Available?
Full support will be given, including one to one sessions or workshops with the assessor where appropriate and contact with the assessor by e-mail or telephone. In addition, on-line portfolio building facilities are available.
