Apprenticeship in Management Level 3
Who Is This Apprenticeship For?
The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Management is aimed at first line managers who want to develop their management skills, gaining the knowledge, skills and understanding in a more flexible and practical way. They must have a defined level of authority for managing resources, taking decisions and responsibility for achieving specific results by using resources effectively, allocating work to team members, colleagues or contractors. It is suitable for candidates who are working as managers and leaders.
This training develops management performance and effectiveness ready for career progression.
What Does The Course Comprise?
You will need to take 5 mandatory units with a value of 31 credits and select optional units with a value of 24 credits. This offers learners the opportunity to develop core competences needed in today’s dynamic business world.
Mandatory Units:
- Manage personal and professional development
- Manage team performance
- Principles of leadership and management
- Principles of people management
- Principles of business
Optional Units (selection):
- Develop and maintain professional networks
- Manage a project
- Employee rights and responsibilities
- Resolve customer service problems
The final two elements are the development of Personal learning and Thinking Skills which are embedded within the delivery of the knowledge and competency elements of the training, and Employment Rights and Responsibilities where understanding is checked through completion of a short workbook, or can be taken as a standalone unit.
If employees do not have a Level 2 qualification in English, Maths or ICT gained in the last 5 years e.g. GCSE Grade C or above, they will also need to achieve functional skills at level 2 in these subjects.
How Long Will The Course Take To Achieve?
The level 2 qualification will take around 12-18 months to complete.
How Will The Learner Be Assessed?
Assessment will take place by regular observation in the workplace. Additional assessment will be through portfolio building of assignments, case studies, observation and work based activities.
What Support Is Available?
Full support will be given, including one to one sessions or workshops with the assessor where appropriate and contact with the assessor by e-mail or telephone. In addition, on-line portfolio building facilities are available.
