Apprenticeship in Child Care - Level 3
Darley is now recruiting for this exciting qualification that is aimed at people who wish to become Early Years Educators.
This course gives successful learners a licence to practise at a supervisory level.
What Does The Qualification Cover?
The qualification covers the knowledge and skills which are essential to anyone working as an Early Years Educator.
The nine mandatory units cover the following topics:
- Child Development
- Professional Development
- Safeguarding children
- Diversity, equality and inclusion
- Positive behaviour and transitions
- Working in partnership
- Promoting children’s speech, language and communication
- Theories underpinning practise
- Supporting children’s activities
The content of this qualification also meets the criteria set by the National College for Teaching and Leadership.
In order to enrol as an Early Years Educator, learners will need to have gained GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
How Long Will It Take To Achieve?
The course is an 18-24 month programme depending on existing skills and experience.
Initial Assessment And Induction
An initial assessment of each learner will be made before you start to identify any specific training needs, support and guidance you may need, any units you may have already completed, or credits you may have accumulated which are relevant to the qualification
What Settings And Roles Can I Work In?
As an Early Years Educator, you will be able to work with children in a range of settings, for example:
- Early Years Educator
- Child-Minder
- Nursery Nurse
What Progression Opportunities Are There?
Learners can progress into further education and training, for example onto the level 5 Diploma in Leadership for the Children and Young People’s Workforce.
